Illuminating Elegance with Rotating Design

Dynamic Design

CALAMAIO – Design Cervelleri, Di Lorenzo, Montini

Calamaio is a desk lamp brings light where it is needed using a rotating head mounted on a mobile structure. Made entirely of metal, it is composed of two slender cylindrical stems connected by a pivot that allows the lamp head to be oriented. The LED light source is positioned at the end of the lamp and creates a directed light beam.  The Calamaio body is fixed to a spherical element resting on a circular base, allowing it to rotate widely. A contemporary line, dictated by the movement of pure and essential forms, and enriched by the interaction with the user.

Light and flexible, its personality is expressed through its bold colours and glossy lacquer of scarlet red, mustard yellow and satin black nickel.

A new collaboration born from the meeting of three young Italian creatives chosen by Oluce during the academic course of Lighting Design at Sapienza University.

Marco Cervellieri, born in Rome in 1983, an architect with a specialization in furniture and lighting at la Sapienza University, is present in the field of interior design, as a designer of residences, retail, offices and product development. He has to his credit his professional collaboration with the Italian lighting design company Light Drops and his collaboration with the French high-end furniture brand Roche Bobois.

Giulia Di Lorenzo, from Rome, graduated with honors in design and during her studies won an international contest to create a solid surface product.
The following year she made an installation that was exhibited in the center of Rome.

When she finished her studies, she specialized in lighting design in order to learn more about light in its application to Product Design.

Giacomo Montini, Born in Brescia class of 1997, graduated in Product Design, always in close contact with the industrial context of northern Italy, interested in the research of new materials and production techniques. He is currently involved in Product design and lighting design in his city.

A union that places different disciplines side by side and bases its identity on the development of pure and essential forms, keeping constant the search for a union between tradition and technology, a great passion for design while maintaining the attention towards a correct industrialization of each product.
