What is the philosophy behind this project?
Redefining a problem is the initial step in our production process and it begins with studying a program and a structure, a bilateral contrast, which ends up in balance. We need to recognize a problem thoroughly. Which means studying all the other essential problems that shape the current problem and also searching for all the futuristic problems that will emerge in time.
For example, in Tehranpars Show room we found that the conventional commercial facades always focused and reduced to a two dimensional façade that ends to a graphical surface at the end of design so we tried to redefining this problem to a new idea that makes 3-dimentional relation between interior space and the city, and also the building makes a new role as an urban void .this kind of connectivity also makes the building works better as a commercial and showroom space.
Why architecture, not interior design?
We think that there is no main difference between being an architect or an interior architect, both are disciplines that you can redefine a problem through an idea with different technics and skills. there is always an important thing that you should design and bring about the right question and answer it through ideas and strategies.
Where do you get your direction from?
We believe that architecture could not be limited to rigid structures but have essential and general ideas for production. sometimes architecture is a representative act as a result of the process of perception. So you should listen and watch carefully to periphery informations and forces .This representation comes out of a process that produce ideas and that’s why we emphasize on a “general idea” and a constant relation to this initial assumption throughout the process.
Do you think that your studies in an architect influenced you in one way or another?
We believe that studying and researching the history of architecture is the most important thing for an architect to be a better architect in future. without deep understanding of what the others have done in the discipline, you cannot go so far for new ideas through your profession and there is always some artist or an architect that you have to put your legs on his works shoulder to make new ideas and practices. and this also works for us from our history of traditional architecture and culture to a variety of modern and contemporary architecture in world.
How do define the future of architect design?
We think that there is two main direction for future of architecture: the first one is the importance of design and bringing about ideas through contextual atmosphere of a place including geography, politics, history, economics and etc. that we believe there will be a network of contextual forces that architecture will face through it more and more .and the second one will be the future of technology role-playing making smart objects and cities that seriously will redefine the future of space organization and function of architecture .
What are you currently working on?
We are working on a couple of public and residential projects including two big condominium residential projects and a research center and sports pool for an educational complex.
