The ALPI Xilo wood’s low weight

Here is a new episode of ALPI veneer embellishing Sanlorenzo yachts. ALPI wood is used inside the brand-new SP110, whose interiors were designed by Piero Lissoni under the supervision of Tilli Antonelli. This “open coupé” model presented at the recent Cannes Yachting Festival is a harmonious combination of high performance and energy efficiency, the result of research by Sanlorenzo to develop technology with low environmental impact.

The interiors offer unique comfort, with a layout that promotes and simplifies both conviviality and privacy. Spaces are generous in the cabins as well as the owner’s private lounging quarters. Piero Lissoni’s minimalistic and elegant design perfectly embraces the philosophy behind the yacht’s overall design. He selected ALPI Xilo White Flamed to give the interiors a feeling of absolute lightness.

This wood veneer – used for the walls and furniture of the owner’s cabin and its en-suite bathroom and living area – belongs to the ALPI Designer Collection curated by Lissoni. The chosen shade, pale and delicate with flamed veining, simulates the perfect intensity of nature. The wood confers stylistic coherence to the different spaces, an aesthetic choice that reflects the recognisable style of Sanlorenzo yachts, known for their sobriety and balanced proportions.

ALPI Xilo reproduces the veining and colour of natural wood. It expresses all the extraordinary creative process, culture of bespoke manufacturing and design freedom at ALPI combined with Piero Lissoni’s sophisticated interior decoration. The veneer emulates the uniqueness of living wood and recreates its natural characteristics by using innovative and avant-garde technology specially invented by the ALPI research and development department.

Inside the owner’s cabin, ALPI Xilo White Flamed graces the base of the bed, the night tables and a long, low cabinet with fluted front and smooth top. The same veneer is used for the fluted panels at either side of the cabin’s portholes, the bathroom cabinetry, much of the yacht’s wall-panelling and the stair leading up from the living area and lounge to the main deck.

The new SP110 yacht is a well-crafted blend of the founding values at Sanlorenzo – comfort, exclusivity and sustainability – and the ecological awareness that has long been central to the production philosophy at ALPI.
