Egaligilo

Egaligilo Pavilion is a public installation that illustrates the contradiction between parametric and traditional building by functioning as a force equaliser.
Egaligilo is an Esperanto word that means “equaliser.”

As it integrates into the public space, the pavilion achieves a constant engagement with its surroundings, establishing its own microclimate by keeping the atmospheric conditions essential to maintain a tiny garden inside.
It keeps the plants alive by enabling light and rain to penetrate inside through both skins.
Throughout the day, the openings and effects of artificial lighting create diverse scenarios, enticing the viewer to enter the pavilion and blurring the line between inside and outdoors.

To address global concerns and produce solutions to improve the quality of life, design and architecture must work as change agents.

Egaligilo also aims to raise awareness about ephemeral structure recycling and the primary goal of architecture: to assist humanity.
The pavilion, for example, was first shown outside the Tamayo Museum in Mexico City, and will now be converted to help a poor community.
