In 2013, Giorgia Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto established the Zanellato/Bortotto studio in Treviso, following their academic achievements at IUAV University in Venice and the ECAL in Lausanne. Their creative journey took off with the unveiling of their debut project, “Acqua Alta,” at the prestigious Salone Satellite in Milan. This collection served as a heartfelt tribute to the enchanting city of Venice, igniting their passion for investigating the profound relationship between places and the ceaseless passage of time. Their exploration of this connection led them to reimagine traditional artisanal techniques with a contemporary twist.

At the heart of Zanellato/Bortotto’s studio lies a diverse array of works encompassing product design, limited editions for galleries, art direction, and interior design projects. Collaborating with esteemed Italian and international companies, their creations have graced the walls of renowned galleries and institutions worldwide. The MAXXI in Rome, the Triennale Design Museum, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan, the Somerset House, and The Aram Gallery in London have all proudly exhibited their visionary designs.

Their remarkable talent did not go unnoticed, as the duo received a nomination for the prestigious Elle Décor Italy Young Talent of the Year award in 2015. The following year brought further acclaim with the NYXxDESIGN prize from the esteemed American magazine Interior Design, as well as the esteemed Red Dot Design Award for their captivating project “Storie per Cedit.” The year 2018 witnessed the studio’s exceptional work being honored with a Good Design Award for the remarkable Bix chair created for B-line.

The ongoing journey of Zanellato/Bortotto continues to inspire and captivate, intertwining tradition and innovation to craft timeless designs that forge a deep connection between people, places, and the tapestry of time itself.
